As 2021 draws to a close, the need to reflect and look back at key business moments from the past year grows stronger. There’s been a lot going on at Sewio this year and we would like to share some of the highlights with you.

Product

Feedback from our customers and partners helps us perfect our products and services, which was especially true in the past year. We listened to what the market had to say and made significant improvements on both our hardware and software.

We became the first vendor in the world to enable full visibility into narrow aisles with unmatched cost-effectiveness by integrating 1D tracking using directional antennas into the latest update of Sewio RTLS, which proved to be a major competitive advantage and helped us win several new customers in the automotive industry. On top of that, a new tag zones feature was introduced, which allows for the implementation of crucial safety use cases, but also permits alerting, reporting, and tracing based on the proximity of two moving entities.

As for our hardware, we introduced a new industrial anchor: The Omni UWB Anchor, which completes our fully certified industrial infrastructure portfolio, together with Direct UWB Anchor providing the right mix of directional and omnidirectional coverage to ensure the necessary accuracy while keeping the project costs at a minimum.

Projects

Our hands were busy all year long and we’ve worked on some truly interesting RTLS projects with unique use-cases. One of the most interesting ones was implemented by our Gold partner Asseco CEIT at Velux Commercial in Demark, where a single RTLS infrastructure fulfills 7 different use cases of industrial automation, maximizing the project’s ROI and showing that the sky is the limit when it comes to leveraging real-time location systems in industrial settings.

Sewio RTLS is also behind the worldwide most visited showcase of UWB technology as one of the technological keystones of Germany’s pavilion at Expo Dubai 2020, which leverages the latest technologies to provide an immersive visitor experience.

Global Recognition

The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Indoor Location Services is an annual research report that assesses vendors within the ILS market and Sewio Networks Positioned in the 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Indoor Location Services, Global as a Niche Player. Our placement as a Niche Player affirms the importance of our RTLS platform and the efforts we have invested in its continuous innovation, and we take it as a confirmation of our mission to help the industrial world boost its efficiency and maximize its safety.

Sewio Team & Partner Network

As we advance our efforts in becoming the top global players in the industrial UWB RTLS market our team keeps on growing. The biggest news comes from the US, where we first boosted our presence on the US market by hiring Viren Mathuria, as North America General Manager and later opened Sewio LLC (a subsidiary of Sewio Networks s.r.o.). We hope both our partners and customers will benefit from this presence of Sewio on the US market as we are also planning on growing the sales and support team there in the near future.

We also expanded our team in Europe, by hiring Simon Chudoba, to help our Sales team accelerate Sewio’s strategic growth, Barbora Valtl, and Martina Malikova as two new marketing experts to support us in improving our brand visibility and strengthen our position on the market, and last but not least Peter Sulgan, a technical consultant for our Customer Experience team to support our partners with the implementation of RTLS projects.

Similarly, our partner network also grew over the past year and we are proud to announce that we currently have over 100 partners delivering the Sewio RTLS solution to end customers all around the world.

What’s on the Agenda for 2022?

First and foremost we will be focused on growing and strengthening our partner network. Leveraging the uniqueness and scalability of the Sewio partner program should help us with the global acquisition of new partners. Plus, we will actively be working on reinforcing our existing partnerships by looking for new ways to support our partners in all aspects of our common business.

As for product updates, we will keep you on your toes for a little longer, however, what we can already reveal now is that we will be launching new tools to help our partners increase the quality of their services and thus guarantee to deliver higher quality solutions for our end customers. Plus, we will continue our quest to improve the overall quality of services offered to both our partners and customers.

Strengthening our position as the leader on the RTLS market comes with great responsibility which is why we will keep on growing our team. We are already in the process of expanding our sales team in Europe by hiring experts with material handling and manufacturing backgrounds. Additionally, we also plan on hiring experts across all departments. Looking for a new job? Check out our openings, maybe we are looking for someone with just your expertise!

Last but not least, after three long years of waiting and postponing the Sewio Summit is finally back and we are hoping to see as many of you as possible in Prague on the 21st and 22nd of September 2022. As always expectations are high and we will do our best to get as many of our enterprise end customers, innovative partners, our in-house R&D team, and global RTLS experts to share their best practices and inspire you for your future RTLS projects.

It has been a long year after which we all deserve a couple of days spent in peace, surrounded by our families. So may your holiday season and New Year be filled with joy, happiness, and success.

We, at Sewio, look forward to working with you in the coming year.
