At Sewio, we believe that to achieve our vision of transforming 10,000,000 m² of shop floors into the most efficient and safe environments, we need to support the democratization of the location market to ensure widespread accessibility and affordability.

That’s why the latest iteration of Sewio RTLS is designed to continue its alignment with open location standards, helping to redefine the future of the location market by providing technology and vendor-agnostic solutions. Concurrently, this newest version of Sewio RTLS showcases heightened performance, leading to enhanced scalability and a significant boost in return on investment (ROI).

Discover the top three features of Sewio RTLS 3.1:

From Tags to Trackables: Pioneering Interoperability
for Tomorrow’s Tech

Sewio version 3.1 now boasts the ability to accurately replicate customers’ shop floor processes through its tag virtualization feature. Customers are no longer tracking tags, but “Trackables”, basically, any moving entity that is important for their own operations: a car chassis, tugger and production operator for an automotive supplier and beer kegs, pallets with beer and a forklift for a brewery. By this, businesses are empowered to create a virtual environment that precisely mirrors their real-world operations, enabling them to better understand, analyze, and improve their workflows, ultimately driving increased efficiency and productivity on the shop floor.

From Tags to Trackables and Sequences

The introduction of the new Trackables feature signifies a landmark achievement in location-based solutions as it aligns seamlessly with Omlox, the world’s first open locating standard. Trackables are paving the way for the implementation of flexible real-time locating solutions that can incorporate elements from a multitude of manufacturers and technologies. The launch of this feature truly demonstrates our commitment to shaping the future of indoor location-based solutions, while reinforcing the importance of open standards and collaborative efforts within the industry.

Trackables also significantly reduce the complexity of location data as they represent a subset of the initial raw data covering the millions of locations of thousands of tags into a much smaller and desired dataset. The simplification and speedup brought with trackables unlock new ways of working with location data.

In addition to Trackables, RTLS 3.1’s API also allows customers to obtain the sequence – a specific order in which the Trackables moved across virtual zones representing each production stage. An excellent example of this feature is the trackable flow of work order in which a production manager can be alerted in real-time via a third-party app when the work order breaks the given sequence or time schedule.

Server Performance Boost Unlocks New Levels of Scalability

The location data is high volume and high velocity, representing a significant load in terms of computing power and server performance. Version 3.1 introduces parallel computing, besides other algorithm updates, to decrease the single thread processor load by 65%.

This performance boost allows clients to scale their RTLS deployments by extending their areal coverage and adding more tracked objects without investment into new server hardware. At the same time, the ROI of new installations is boosted by decreasing the server hardware costs needed.

Fully White-labeled API to Create a Consistent Brand Experience

From the very beginning, we’ve provided our customers with the ability to fully customize and brand our hardware solutions, and we’re thrilled to now offer the same level of customization for our API.

With our fully white-labeled API, our customers can now fully integrate our solution into their existing infrastructure, offering their end-users a seamless, branded experience. This means that our customers can maintain full control over the look and feel of their solutions, ensuring a consistent brand experience across all touchpoints.
