Sewio Partners with Global Leader SICK and Brings UWB Technology into the Spotlight

This March, the global sensor manufacturer SICK announced their official partnership with us at Sewio and set the stage to transform the field of indoor localization technology. SICK offers numerous solution providers worldwide, giving our ultra-wideband (UWB)-based RTLS a bigger platform of exposure. Displaying its benefits to a larger audience is a key step in establishing UWB technology as the de facto standard for industrial indoor positioning. A milestone standard that Sewio is more than excited to embrace.

Industrial verticals pose several challenges for indoor positioning due to their harsh and busy environments. As a result, conventional methods fail to provide the required level of location tracking that companies demand. That’s where UWB comes in. Tracking solutions based on UWB technology offer precise, reliable traceability. SICK recognized these advantages and partnered with Sewio to offer their customers complete solutions that enable full digitization of material flows.

“We are proud that Sewio could support SICK in getting the Tag-LOC system successfully on the market. Our combined expertise in UWB technology and supply chain digitalization complemented each other to realize a product that records real-time position data of assets such as vehicles, workpieces, and materials. I look forward to our continued collaboration and where it leads us,” said Lubomir Mraz, CTO and co-founder of Sewio.

Together with SICK, we can promote UWB and evangelize the market. At the moment, as with every new technology, early adopters already know that UWB is a must-have and brings them key competitive advantages. It is the less agile companies that we want to convince to take the first step and prioritize it for the health of their operations. As we continue to work with global leaders such as SICK, our aim is that UWB will eclipse conventional methods entirely and become the default technology for industrial tracking.
